Winter Wonderland Winners

We launched our first Shaderlight for SketchUp render contest back in November asking SketchUp users everywhere to get festive and by creating a winter wonderland image rendered using Shaderlight.

We were overwhelmed with the quality of entries but after much deliberation put a shortlist of 6 images together to send over to our guest judges to give their verdict.

Chris Dizon from Google, 3D World editor Steve Jarratt, Mike Lucey at SketchUcation and Mark Sullivan, 3d specialist here at Shaderlight HQ  judged the entries looking at the model, composition, materials used and overall appeal.

Here are the three winning images:

In first place was Luke Holdmann from Milwaukee, USA with this striking snowflake ferris wheel:

In second place was this cosy log cabin rendered by Abedallah from Christchurch, New Zealand:

And in third was this festive scene inspired by a Currier and Ives print and rendered by Zoungy:

Thanks to everyone who entered and if you didn’t win this time around, don’t worry, we’ll do it all over again soon.
